The Metronit is an advanced Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system for mass transportation, which travels along dedicated transport lanes and enjoys gradual preference at traffic lights. The Metronit enables you, the passengers, to plan a journey through a real-time information system.

Superbus will start operation of the Metronit on October 15, 2021.

Various services such as information, issuing and topping up cards can be obtained at “Al HaKav” (On the Line) stand at HaMifratz Central and at any one of the On the Line stands all over the country.

No. All the lines will be operated in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Transport and the Public transport Authority.

Line 4 - the Tunnels Line, will connect the Haifa Bay Cities (the Krayot) with Hof HaCarmel Central at the exit from Haifa, via the Carmel Tunnels.

Yes. Every ride must be validated by all passengers!

Please note: the control and monitoring team has been expanded. Please avoid any unpleasant situations. For your information, non-payment constitutes a criminal offence.

 Answer: the main discounts offered are:

• Children up to the age of 5 - children up to 5 years are exempt from payment when travelling together with another paying customer. that is, if an adult gets on the bus with two children, one child is exempt from payment while the other will be charged. If the adult gets on the bus with 3 children, all under the age of 5, the adult will pay his/her own ticket, one child will be exempt from payment, the second child will pay for a ticket, thereby accompanying the third child. The third child is therefore exempt from payment. Therefore, in this situation, only 2 tickets are required
• Pupils and youth under 18 or those at the end of their high school: the multi-ride paper ticket used in the past is no longer available and has been so for quite some time. Passengers are entitled to a discount when using the Personal Youth Profile Rav-Kav, granting a 50% discount.
• Senior citizens: senior citizens: 50% discount when presenting an ID card or a Senior Citizen Certificate. A woman age 60 and a man age 65, who are Israeli citizens/residents only (tourists will be charged full rate).
• Police personnel and soldiers: soldiers/officers/pre-military students in uniform are entitled to ride free of charge, when presenting a Enlisted Soldier Certificate and validating it in the ticketing machine/validating device. Soldiers out of uniform are exempt from payment, when presenting Certificate 327 or a valid Combat Soldier Certificate. On weekends and on holidays, on Thursday, from 22:30 to Sunday, 05:00, only soldiers (soldiers on pre-military courses are excluded) are exempt from presenting an Enlisted Soldier Certificate and validating it through the ticketing machine/validator. Not valid on the following holidays: Hannukah, Lag Baomer, Taanit Esther (Esther Fast), Passover Isru Hag, Shavuoth Isru Hag, Ninth Day of Av, Memorial Day for the Holocaust. Soldiers on the day of their discharge are entitled to travel free of charge upon presenting the Green Certificate with a silver IDF seal + Unit seal and date of discharge.
• National Insurance Institute Beneficiaries are entitled to a 33% discount when presenting a Certificate of Eligibility.
• A blind person is entitled to full exemption from payment upon presenting a Certificate of Blindness / Rav-Kav with the appropriate profile / a period travel contract.
  and above, when presenting a Certificate of Blindness / Rav-Kav with the appropriate profile. 
• Those accompanying blind persons: one person accompanying one blind person is entitled to a 50% discount on a single ticket (note that when the blind person is accompanied by a guide dog, the dog is regarded as the escort and any one else travelling with the blind person is not entitled to a discount).

Answer: according to Regulation 434(B) of the Transportation Regulations, the driver must provide a ride to a passenger who has offered to pay for that ride with a note whose value does not exceed the trip cost multiplied by ten. e.g., the driver must accept from a regular passenger whose fare is NIS 3.80, any sum up to NIS 38.

Answer: bicycles or surfboards can be transported free of charge on intercity buses (equipped with a baggage compartment), only when placed in the baggage compartment and providing there is space available. In city buses (with no baggage compartment), bicycles folding into a bag are allowed on the bus. Surfboards are not allowed on a bus with no baggage compartments.

 Answer: a student discount is granted only when buying an annual/semester Student Pass.

Go to one of the Service Stations. Present an ID card, fill in the Issue Request Form, have a head shot taken and get the Rav-Kav Card on the spot. A Rav-Kav cannot be issued for another person, except for children.

Children up to the age of 16 must be accompanied by one of their parents and present one of the parent’s ID card plus the ID appendix.

A student must present a valid student card and proof of enrollment in one of the institutions included in the list of institutions recognized by the Council for Higher Education and the Transport Ministry.

Bicycles are allowed on intercity buses, in the luggage compartments only, and providing there is space available in the compartments.

On city busses - bicycles are allowed only when folded and placed in a cover. Also, due to available space considerations, taking folded bicycles on the bus is subject to the driver’s discretion. Transporting bicycles on the bus is free of charge.

Bicycles can be placed in the luggage compartment if there is space available in it. There is no excess luggage charge for bicycles.

A passenger may get on the bus with a baby stroller. On intercity buses, the stroller can be placed in the luggage compartment, at no charge. An open or folded stroller may be taken on city buses. There is no charge on strollers any time of the day.

A blind person is allowed to take a guide dog at no charge. The guide dog does not have to be muzzled.

A passenger may take small animals that can be held on the passenger’s lap or in his/her arms. A dog should be muzzled and be on a leash, whereas a small animal should be placed in a case or a carrier, in a manner that will not cause any harm or discomfort to other passengers.

A passenger using a wheelchair or electric mobility rider can get on the bus via the ramp for the disabled, which is installed at the rear door, providing these vehicles meet the following criteria:

*the width of the wheelchair or rider shall not exceed 75 cm (maximum dimension)

*their weight shall not exceed 130 kg

*the depth of the wheelchair or rider shall not exceed 120 cm (maximum dimension)

According to the Transport Ministry’s directive, surfboards are not allowed on city bus due to the possible safety risks involved, such as: bodily harm as a result of a dropped surfboard, a window broken by the surfboard during sudden breaking, and more.

Surfboards are only allowed on intercity buses, in luggage compartments, free of charge.

If your card was lost or stolen, go to one of the Transport Ministry’s service points, with means of identification (ID card, passport or driver’s license). The representative in the service point will issue a new card and in case of a personal Rav-Kav, will restore all the balances that were stored on the original lost or stolen card (the restoring process is done on the spot but does not show immediately).

Balances on an anonymous Rav-Kav card cannot be restored.  If the Card was intentionally damaged or lost, its reissue will cost NIS 10.

If there has been a serious driving offence ((driving through a red traffic light, emitting smoke)), contact the Company’s call center, which is available 24/7 at tel. 1-700-700-181, and/or send email to: Pniot@Superbus.co.il.

Please provide all the details, such as bus number, vehicle number, name of applicant, etc.

Passenger rights and duties

Do not get on the bus or try to get into it, after the driver or ticket person have announced that no more passengers are allowed in.

Do not speak with the driver during the ride, other than for short questions related to the ride itself

Please do not litter. Keep the bus clean and throw garbage only in the designated bins.

The passenger must identify him/herself and provide their details per the driver’s request, if the driver has any reason to believe that the passenger has broken any regulations

Do not get on the bus while intoxicated. Do not get on it dressed inappropriately, with clothes that might soil or damage the seat lining or the other passengers’ clothes. In such cases, the driver may refuse access to the bus

Do not get on the buss with a lighted cigarette or pipe. Smoking on the bus is prohibited

Small pets that can be placed on the passenger’s lap or held in arms are allowed on the bus. A pet must also be on a leash. This instruction does not apply to a guide dog accompanying a blind person

Baggage will not be admitted on board without the permission of the driver, if its size or content may cause harm or discomfort to the passengers

The driver may refuse allowing a stroller on the bus if the bus is crowded or if there is no suitable space for placing the stroller

It is strictly prohibited to transport explosives, fuel or any inflammable material on the bus

Travelling without a card: a passenger who has not presented a [valid] ticket, at the driver’s or the supervisor’s request, showing that this ticket has been used for that specific ride, will pay the following: for a city journey - the bus fare plus a double fare for the that ride, from the stop on which the passenger alighted on the bus until his/her destination stop. For intercity journeys - the bus fare and also half of the fare for the that ride, from the stop on which the passenger got on the bus until his/her destination stop

As of 01/02/2021, a senior citizen is a man age 67 and a woman age 62. A 50% discount on the bus fare will be granted when presenting a Senior Citizen’s Certificate. 

Soldiers holding Certificate No. 327 or the certificate of a combat soldier are permitted to travel free of charge when not in uniform. Traveling free of charge is also allowed when presenting the certificate of an enlisted soldier, officer or reservist.
The certificate should be in order, duly signed and its dates valid.

According to which all soldiers are allowed to travel free of charge, when not in uniform, on weekends and on days of special events which are stipulated in the regulations, even if they do not have the relevant certificates

Any item that might soil or damage other passengers or their clothes (such as an uncovered drink cup or a hot drink cup without a lid), items emitting unpleasant odours, surfboards, bicycles that cannot be folded into a bag, explosives and loaded weapons.

Animals that cannot be held on the passenger’s lap, that are not on a leash or muzzled (except for guide dogs accompanying the blind).

As of 22.11.16, Stay Visa Holders in Israel (student visa, temporary residence, special clerical visitors visa, and others), for a period of at least one year, will be entitled to discounts granted on public transport, like Israeli residents.

A disabled person holding a Disability Certificate or any other certificate confirming his/her disability, which was granted by the Institute of National Insurance; an IDF disabled person holding a membership certificate of the IDF Disabled Veterans Organization; or a terror victim disabled holding a membership certificate of the Terror Victims Association - are all entitled to a 33% discount on the full travel fare in all the lines, when purchasing a travel contract of accumulated value. The discount is activated upon the issue of a Personal Rav-Kav Card and the loading of a Disabled Person Profile.

A blind person is entitled to full exemption from fares in all price codes and in all the bus and railway lines. A person accompanying a blind person is entitled to a 50% discount on a single ticket, in all price codes and in all the bus and railway lines in the country

The Student Profile offers two tracks, each granting separate discounts. A standard Student Profile providing a 33% discount when loading the card with accumulated value, i.e. - if you load the card with NIS 100, you will get the value of NIS 150 for travel use; minimum accumulated value to be loaded is NIS 30.

An expanded Student Profile - purchasing a semester travel arrangement (Semesters A and/or B only; does not apply to summer semester) or an annual travel arrangement will be at a further price reduction. In addition, loading the card with an accumulated value under this profile grants an added value of 50% 

A free ride within the card’s purchased region and a 50% discount for all the rides that are not included in the card’s region/area. The discounts and free rides within the card area are not limited to any transport operator.

A semester contract valid during the semester period (there are different contracts for Semester A and Semester B), an annual contract valid for the academic year, and an accumulated value.

 At the Issue Stations, you can get a card, load it, change its status, or repair a malfunctioning card.

You can pay with a credit card (up to 6 installments, without interest and linkage).

If a card gets lost or stolen, and it has a Free Student contract loaded, go to any of the Service Stations and submit a request to restore the loaded contracts. 

Please bring an ID card, driver’s license or passport, plus proof of enrollment for the academic year and a valid student card - card reissue comes with a NIS 10 charge for handling fees.

When the Student Profile validity expires, use of loaded contracts is automatically blocked. If you do not intend to renew your student status, go to one of the Transport Ministry’s Rav-Kav service points and submit a request to receive credit for the balance on the card (bring an ID card, driver’s license or passport). The credit will be issued only for the student discount contracts that are loaded on the card.

The loaded Profile validity depends on the contract purchased:

When purchasing an annual contract, the Student Profile (50% discount) validity will be extended until the end of the academic year.

When purchasing a semester contract, the Student Profile (50% discount) validity will be extended until the end of the semester (Semesters A or B - depending on the period during which the contract was purchased).

 Yes, the contract type can be changed from a semester to an annual contract within the 30 days from the date the contract was purchased from the Operator. 

 Yes, the contract can be cancelled and another purchased, within 30 days from the date of purchase. Go to the Station where you loaded the wrong contract so that it can be removed and the required one can be loaded.
